Cakey Bakes Updates!

Bon soir (or bon matin, or bonjour), my friends! Here are a few updates for those of you who are interested.

  • Working full-time on my feet is incredibly draining, so please bear with me as posts continue to be sporadic (except for Wordless Wednesdays, for obvious reasons). I’m doing my best! (Work also seems to be zapping my attention FIREWORKS span…which only makes matters worse. I’ll do my best, I promise!)
  • Seeing as I don’t have to work this weekend, I’m hoping to get a recipe up tomorrow and another on Sunday. Well, tomorrow for sure, Sunday if the in-progress recipe goes well.
  • Thanks to Google Drive, I’ve been able to put up printable recipes in my posts. It always frustrated me when I wanted to print a recipe I found but had to resort to printing the whole article. No more of that here!
  • Any thoughts? Any requests? Any comments? Anything? Please let me know! I’m trying to be better at commenting back/thanking people for liking my posts/etc. I’m so thankful people actually read what I have to say and hope you’re getting something out of it.

  1. I have a banner now. It’s a shoddy banner, yes, but it’s a banner nonetheless. I feel professional now. Thoughts? Comments? (Anyone like to volunteer to make me a really fabulous one?) Please feel free to comment on anything and everything – I don’t bite and I’d love to hear from you!
  2. Considering my job hours are from 6 AM to 2:30 PM Monday-Friday, posts will probably be a little more sporadic for a week or two as I continue to adjust to being awake from 5 AM to 10 PM every day.
  3. Any recipes anyone would like me to try out? Any comments on how what I’ve tried so far is fabulous/wonderful/okay/horrendous? Anyone tried any of my recipes? (Bueller? Bueller?)
  4. I do indeed have a few recipes lined up in my drafts section and hopefully a few more on the way. Weekend = baking time.

Unprecedented Update!

Hello friends, Romans, countrymen! (Oh, I made a funny. Please ignore that.)

Anyways, first off, I wanted to thank you for reading my posts – whether this is the first and/or only post you’re reading, whether you follow me or not, regardless of if you’ve been with me since the (awkward) beginning back in February, whatever your state in life, thank you. It may just be just a blog post to you, but it means a lot to me.

Cakey Bakes got a new layout, if you haven’t already noticed! The old one was kind of slow and I like this one quite a lot. It’s unfortunate I can’t afford WordPress’s $30 a year to further customize the theme, so this’ll have to do until I’m rich and famous.

If I can figure out how link parties work, tomorrow will mark the beginning of Wordless Wednesdays. If I can’t, which is the more likely option at the moment…next week will mark the beginning of Wordless Wednesdays.

AND if the link party doesn’t come to fruition, tomorrow will involve a guest post from a woman far classier and wittier than I, and I love her more than the recipe she has in store for you all. Thankfully, she doesn’t run a food blog, so no competition in that department, at least! (Ok, ignore that funny too) She’s grand, you’ll love her. Some of you may remember her from my first post (and this one). During the school year, she provides the iPhone camera, a certain amount of ingredients, a brilliant mind, and lots of shenanigans.

There are quite a few posts stored up in my drafts, too, so once I can focus my attention on one of them long enough to finish one, there will be more food and recipes and happiness. Honestly, I think I have commitment issues. But first, my skills at taste-testing are currently needed…
